I LOVE THIS YOGA!! It has been more than three years and I cannot imagine my life without it ever again. I started off thinking I would come once a week, just to add some flexibility training. I thought that yoga could not possibly be enough of a workout on its own. I could not have been more wrong. It was simply amazing to me how superior it was to every other workout I had ever done. Now it is such an important part of my life that I wake up and am at the studio before I even know what has happened.
This is not to say that I do not have good days and bad days; good weeks and bad weeks. Even so, there is always progress. Although I still have plenty of room left for improvement, I am in awe of how far I have come.
Just about every part of my body has ached for some period of time. But each part has eventually felt better than before. You just cannot get discouraged and give up. Some aches have lasted days, others weeks or months - but they have all improved. In one of Jay's letters from teacher training he said to trust the process. This has been so true for me. I'll say it again: TRUST THE PROCESS. When you are feeling frustrated make this phrase your mantra. This yoga works, sometimes in very mysterious ways. There is really no "I can't" in yoga, there is just "I am not there yet". Do not let your mind get in the way of what your body can accomplish.
Stacey and all of her instructors have created a wonderful environment in this studio. It is a very friendly and supportive place. No matter what kind of day I am having I love knowing that when I walk through the front door there will be friendly smiling faces and all the encouragement that I need. I know that if I have questions about the yoga they will be answered. Sometimes you just need to know that what you are feeling, either physically or mentally from the yoga, is normal. Take advantage of all there is to be had here from all the teachers and even from other students. You can learn something new and different every class if you are open to the possibilities. Most importantly, just keep coming to class!
