Better Posture
Bikram Yoga Transcends All Else As I approached the age of 55, I knew my days of running, step aerobics, jazzercise, and certainly kick boxing (my last endeavor), were over. But, I've always had quite a bit of energy and moderate exercise had always been a priority, both to keep my weight in check as well as to moderate stress levels, so I knew I had to find a low impact activity that better suited me at this stage in my life. I tried substituting high impact workouts with daily walks but they weren't addressing the benefits I wanted to achieve.

When a friend told me about Bikram Yoga in February of this year, I was sure it wasn't for me. I couldn't imagine the attraction, much less the benefits, of doing 90 minutes of yoga in a room of over 100 degrees. So, for a couple of months I tried to ignore all the benefits of Bikram Yoga my friend told me about and how it had transformed her life in nearly every way. But that kind of testimonial is hard to ignore. Finally, on a Friday afternoon in April something got the better of my curiosity, and I attended and survived my first class at Bikram Yoga Grapevine. Believe me, when I walked into the heated room, I thought I might not survive. Well, of course I survived. And thrived! I have gone back faithfully over the months, on average four times a week, and will continue to do so for as long as I can. For me, Bikram Yoga is an addiction in the most positive and enlightening ways.

The benefits of Bikram Yoga transcend all other exercises I have tried. The physical benefits of Bikram Yoga transcend all other exercises I have tried. The physical benefits for me have been better posture, increased strength, flexibility and balance, more controlled breathing, weight loss, and muscle definition. All that exceeded my expectations. But the added benefit that comes from the mental and emotional feelings of well being...Well, Bikram Yoga transcends all else.
